sidewinder precision pro with xin XP

Hi There,
does anyone know of any homebrew drivers or fixes/hacks to get the sidewinder precision pro joystick to run with windows XP? I have heard of using Serial to USB adapters, but i am wondering if there is a better way to do it. Thanks in advance! 🙂

1. That stick uses a MIDI port (Gameport)
2. If it's the stick I'm thinking of, it should work fine in windows without any driver installation...

Mine works natively in XP, but it doesn't have the program to reassign the buttons 🙁

I'm putting together an ancient computer to play my old favorites on.

I finally got it to work. I installed Microsoft's SideWinder gamepad 4.0 driver and used Control Panel to detect it. Now I can fly without being hated in BF2. w00t!

Thanks for all the help everyone! My beautiful Joystick is back in business! 😀
