I have just brought a Microsoft Sidewinder Game Voice and am very dissapointed with the performance in online games. Whenever I use it the games become unplayable with bad lag. Whats the point of having this bit of kit if you can't use it. Has anyone else had any luck playing online with this device?

I have one, but have not used it much yet.
I am curious though, what games are you experiencing troubles with? I would like to try it out on those to see if I get the same lag.

The game I want to use it on is counterstrike, the voice commands are neat but when I go online or play a LAN game the game lags real bad. I have had replys to posts on other boards and it seems that some people have had no trouble at all, so it must be my set-up in one way or another.I am going to re-install it this weekend and try it again.I will have to check things like IRQs etc.

There's a better thing out there...it's called game commander 2! It's cheaper then the microsoft product and works a lot better. Check out Game commander website to see, they have links to like 6 different reviews. I personally use it and love it, without trained it works about 90% accurately, I'm prolly going to train it because i don't always pronunciate properly.

I have been using a GV for a while now and it works great. I am using it over a cable modem and have the quality set for LAN with no problems. I am running W2K for the OS.
