Apparantly back in 1997 when I worked at Best Buy I bought a Sidewinder 6000 HF car alarm. I then proceeded to put it in a box somewhere and forget about it. Then last week it was discovered when my parents gave me a box of stuff that I had left at their house.

Anyone know if this thing is still any good or if it's junk? Figured if nothing else I can dump it on ebay and see what happens. But if it's decent I could keep it until I get my next car or something...

Ah well.

If I remember right they are made by DEI (they make all of the snake name alarms) one of the best alarm companies out there..... might not be cutting edge stuff anymore but better then running no alarm.

I still want a car alarm hooked upto a car's hydraulics so the front of the car would start bouncing if someone broke into it.

My boss' BMW Z4 actually has an alarm that'll go off only inside the car (read: no waking up in the middle of the night if someone walks by it) if it's triggered, so it'll stop the burglar from breaking in (now, the only downside is if the thief is deaf - then he's fvcked).

Prolly old hat for the most of you, since y'all are more car-literate than me, but I think it's cool nontheless.
