Sidewinder 3D Pro Plus on XP

Does anyone know how to make the old game port MS Sidewinder 3D Pro Plus work on WinXP? I'm 99% sure it's possible (MS told me so when I first dabbled in XP). I haven't called MS yet, but I've scoured the Web to no avail.
 
I have the Sidewinder 3D Pro (not plus) and it works fine in XP - when you go into the joysticks control panel, and go to add, the driver you are looking for is "Microsoft Sidewinder (Auto-Detect)". As it says, it will automatically detect it and it will work, after you calibrate it.
