I currently am running a 6800gt w/ nv silencer 5 on DFI nf3 Lanparty. I have had some serious glitching with it in cs:s and especially in dod:s (Like every 2-3 minutes). I was figuring since I really only play hl2 based games that I could try an x800xl. Would this be a decent idea? I can probably sell the 6800gt for 200 to a friend. There is the Gibabyte x800xl AGP at newegg right now for 252.

is this decent? or is there a better card at a better price somewhere?

Maybe look at the Sapphire X800GTO2 that should be unlockable to 16 pipes (same as the X800XL) but might overclock to better speeds.

the sapphire gto2 will be a better choice. with a bit of work, you can have a x850xtpe(what the gto2 from sapphire, notice that 2 means squared, uses r480 or x850xt chips.)

That x800xl will feel faster in Source games and be the virtual equal of the GT in everything else barring Doom, which it will still play well enough, that I wouldn't hesitate if I were you. I would think that you would be able to get the 6800GT and the NF3 to play nice, though....
