Split View in iOS 9 doesn't allow two side-by-side Safari windows, which is stupid IMO. Well that problem is now solved with Sidefari which is basically just a simplified version of Safari with a new front end, wrapped up in a new app.

The only problem is you only get a bare bones interface so you wouldn't want to switch to the Sidefari window for full time use.

Yes you can use Split View with Chrome or Firefox but the benefit of Sidefari is it really is just another active instance of Safari so you retain your active cookies, etc. eg. You won't have to re-login to AnandTech in Sidefari, but you would for Chrome or Firefox.

It's a pay app though. US$0.99 / CAD$1.19.

Note: I don't have any relationship to this app or its author. I just wanted to give a heads up that now we can finally run two instances of Safari at the same time.

Note 2: Remember that Split View only works with iPads sporting the A8 or later. That means iPad mini 4 (A8), iPad Air 2 (A8X), iPad Pro (A9X).
