Side effects of sleeping pills?

I've seriously messed up my circadian rhythm and I have an extremely hard time falling asleep before 5am (only to wake up again at 9 for class) in the last few days. I have some samples of "Simply Sleep" by the makers of Tylenol and I want to start taking it.

Are there any side effects of taking these often? Like 3 times per week for example.

And will I get my REM sleep when I take them?

i usually take cough syrup everynight before bed. Im out in like under a minute

that's a pretty bad habit to get into!

ehhh every other week doesnt hurt😉
says dont take it for more than a week. So i take a week break😉

If I use them I sleep like a log but I'm even more tired when I wake up, I don't feel at all rested. I'd rather have a little alcohol.

I've used most of them, never can get to sleep right from about the time I was 16...

THe worst I've had is bad cottonmouth while waiting to sleep, but I've also had the zombie effect afterwards..

Give the herbal Melatonin a try, that I found does a really good job..

Bastard, you beat me to it.

actually jumpr beat ya both.

He didn't say the word "sleep". I quoted him so he couldn't edit it😛

See my correction just above your post.

You should've edited one of your posts instead of making a new one. Really. 😉

Diarrhea, aching stomach, headache, nausea, and in absolute worst case, death.

These drugs are known to the state of California to cause death in sleeping rats and other rodents.

When I take my sleeping pills (admittedly prescription-strength) I have these really odd dreams that make no sense. A lot of times you have this sort of "hangover" where you'll be in between awake and asleep, dreaming even though you're mildly conscious. Like I said, though, these are prescription strength, so you may not have that with OTC pills, but it's something to keep in mind.
