Stop playing with me please, can we die of anestesia??? % chance??

Yes - most common cause is alergic reaction.
2nd would be O2 saturation or somebody not paying attention.

You're life is literally in their hands.

If it makes you feel any better mom was an anesthesiologist (sp?) and never lost a patient in 30 years of service.

Having abysmally low BP and heart rate can cause troubles too. Such as inadvertently putting you to sleep. Permanently.

- M4H

which would cause what?

low O2

<---NOT a CRNA, just play one on ATOT.

Try and stay awake as long as possible when they pump you full of pethadine, it's great when the room starts changing colour and you start seeing weird shapes and colours.

I managed to stay awake for 45 seconds the last time I was put under general and damn, that was awesome.

Don't worry about, you'll be fine. You're just getting yourself worked up and won't be able to sleep. Just remember not to eat or drink 24 hours before hand.

Thansk for this link.I can now sleep better lol.One death per 200k operation is ok.

Lots of people have a general when they go in for wisdom tooth extraction, and you don't hear about them dropping like flies. So just relax.

1440 patient died because of anestesia???

No that is not what he is saying. He is saying that 1.44% of the COMPLICATIONS end in death, not 1.44% of all of them.
