so what ive heard is that it is good to have this enabled...and when i check cpu-z it shows as disabled.

does a gf4 mx440 w/agp8x have sba capabilities, and if so i just turn it on in the bios at boot up right?

Not sure about the latest cards, but SBA has not been officially supported by nVidia for a while now (starting with the first GeForce 256). Some card manufacturers may leave it enabled in the video card's BIOS, but most I've seen don't.

For SBA to work, you need to have enabled in the mobo BIOS, enabled in the video card's BIOS, and supported in the video card's drivers. Any break in the chain would cause it to not work.

With that said, I'd just leave it off. You're not missing anything.

I've got an Asus Geforce 4 4200 (the second revision that's 8x capable) on an Intel i845PESV board, and CPU-Z reports it as sideband enabled. I'm pretty sure it was enabled with my older Geforce 2 also. I didn't have to do anything to enable it, it was on by default.
