8 times out of 10 there is no ad there. I was wondering if you could disable the table when it isn't occupied by an ad from a company?

I wonder if it's to keep the transition of good layout to suck layout to a minimum. Remember when there were no sidebar ads and then the uproar that occured when they arrived? I think if they removed it and then put it back when someone wanted to advertise there, there'd be even more resentment towards it since you'd have to get used to a smaller screen all over again.

I'd also like to have the space back when not in use, FWIW.

Yeah, and it's cheap looking text... at least give me a cool AMD picture to look at. :D

How about some ads with sexy babes on it? Take a porn site ad, Photoshop some clothes onto her and stick the ATI logo on her boobs. Instant success. :Q

Not to be picky, but there are like just two or three ads that rotate. The google ads were better in terms of variety...

I'm kind of at a loss as to why these ads are even on the side.

I understood it when it was the Google Ads because they have strict standards about where the ads must be positioned and also there were usually 4 or 5 running down the side.

Now it's like one little block of text which could be easily moved up to the top of the page and give us the wasted space back.
