Sid Meier Ace Patrol

I jumped right in buying it without any research and I could kick myself for it.

Now I only played for 30 mins, but I thought it was going to be a Blue Max recreation in the arcade style vein.

It's not! It's a turn based game where you can level up your pilots skills, fly in a fleet and take on missions.
 
I've played it on iOS. It's awesome but for my gaming habits it fits much better on the phone than on the PC. I.e., it's designed to be played in short bursts more than a longer session, and when I'm gaming on the PC I'm looking for more long games.
 
Yeah I could see it being phone on iOS which is what I should have bought it for, but on a PC you just expect more out of it.

well, in my case judging from the couple of screenshots I saw, I was expecting a game of that sorts 🙂
