Sick of JL Gatsby? You don't have to see his posts anymore with this script I wrote.

This requires Firefox, and the Greasemonkey extension.

Once you have that installed, go view my script and click the "install" button that comes up in the top-right corner of the window.

This will remove all threads by JL Gatsby from threads, as well as any posts that quote him, and any posts that talk about him. You can have a completely JL Gatsby free conversation.

The script can actually be configured to remove posts by any user, or multiple users, but by default it just removes JL Gatsby.

Enjoy.

Edit: Haha, this post mentions JL Gatsby, so as soon as I posted it, it disappeaed. I had to edit it to spell his name wrong :)

EDIT AGAIN:

THIS SCRIPT DOES NOT REMOVE THREADS FROM SHOWING UP IN THE FORUM LISTING, IT ONLY REMOVES INDIVIDUAL POSTS FROM THREADS.

I can configure that for you. All I need is my ban stick.

So you can't even see this thread can you?
HA so if we want to make fun of you, we could just put "jl*atsby" in our post somewhere? :p

Can't it filter by the user's id?

Feel free to reverse engineer the output of fusetalk if you like, it's harder than it might sound.

Wow... I'm not sure what to think of this. On the one hand, he can be deserving of a good old-fashioned beat-down, but on the other hand... he makes me laugh in the process. I think I rather like having a regluar source of amusement. Y'know, someone to laugh AT, not with.

No thanks, you're the code monkey, you do it! Think of it as a community service and making up for lax govt. worker time. :D

Couldn't you filter JL Gatsby only out of the username title and not out of the body of the post?
So just his posts would not appear at a minimum and if you wanted you could implement the full on script to remove all mention of him.
If someone has his name in a signature, the thread disappears to you, which would probably make many threads/posts disappear?
