Sick of FPS, any other good games?

I was thinking about Age Of Empires II and the expansion pack, since I liked the demo a few months ago. Any ideas; Q3A, UT, and CS are all getting boring lately?

If you've not tried them, Warcraft II Battlenet Edition, Starcraft and Total Annihilation are good games to play. I don't really like Age Of Empires because I feel the units are too underpowered against heavy things like buildings, plus the upgrade path is absolutely huge.

AOE2 and The Conquerers are really cool. I didn't care much for the original AOE, but this has been cool. Haven't had much time to play, but with all the tribes and nationalities, there's a lot of angles to learn. Also, you can have the Scots fight the Japanese in South America if you want.

starcraft rules I played it for about 18+ months exclusively untill I got kinda sick of it. Warcraft2 bne is nice too. Personally I like diablo2 so I highly suggest playing it.

My favorite game to play whenever I'm bored with my FPS's is Civilization II. Not exactly new technology or anything, but what the hell, it's still the most addictive game I've ever played and I never get tired of it.

I have Alpha Centauri, but I've never been able to play it for very long. Probably a good thing, though. I'd probably never stop.

currently i play BG2 if i move away from FPS. if u wanna real cool RTS then Try Homeworld or Homeworld: Cataclysm.

It's good to see people expanding their horizons. FPS aren't the end-all be-all of computer gaming. Far from it.

I really love AOE2, SC and Warcraftbnet. BG2 is a very good choice also.

Oh yeah, and don't forget the original Diablo. I think I've finished it about 10 times. It's that good.

I'd have to agree with Civ 2, and if you're willing to look at some older stuff, Master of Orion 2 and Master of Magic!

Amen re: MoM! I loved that game. The dark elves and trolls were my fav. races. Wasted a lot of time trying to conquer the maps in that game -- I even put up with all those bugs cuz it was so fun.

Yeah, the early version was hell to play! The last fix works pretty good, I still play it sometimes.

Master of Orion 2? I completely forgot about that series... what a wonderful game! I couldn't agree more -- definitely a lot of fun to play.

No doubt about it, go with AOE2 TC. I rocks, especially, if you can play multiplayer on the zone.

Xwing and Tie Fighter. Play it in DOS so that you can use the mouse to control. (Hate these new windows Star Wars flight sims. No mouse control.)
