Shuttle warranty "repair" screwed me, what next?

I sent a Shuttle back for repair under warranty. The power supply had blown and had destroyed the motherboard, CPU, and memory. This was just before the one-year warranty period ended.

They replaced the power supply and sent it back with the note "Tested OK". They didn't repair the motherboard, and obviously never tested *that*, since the machine won't power up for more than half a second before the red "CPU overtemp" LED goes on and the machine shuts off.

They sent it back after the one-year-from-purchase period had ended.

Is there any way to get them to honor their warranty? Does anyone have contact information? When I call the phone number on their website, I get a recorded message telling me that they only give phone support to corporate customers, and that as a retail buyer I cannot talk to anyone.

Is this Shuttle's standard customer service, or did I just get an incompetent tech?

Note: had to create a new userid, I can't find the password or email address I joined with for my old one. :(

(Thinking about it, my userid/password info is probably on the hard drive that's sitting in a box until I can get my Shuttle repaired.)

Thanks much for any help.

Two answers:

1. Shuttle Tech Support (U.S. site). You sent it in for repair before the warranty was up, and they didn't complete the job. I can't guarantee they will, but they should take care of you.

2. PM or e-mail the mods for help getting your old account back. :)

Hope Shuttle does right by you. I'm pretty sure the mods will.

I'm not an attorney, but I am a law student...and I see a lawsuit waiting to happen.

If Shuttle doesn't comply, maybe seek counsel...Shuttle will definitely get their act together then.

It is pretty common for the Shuttle techs ( certain ones ) NOT to fix a problem the first time. I had 2 bad Shuttle systems so far ( out of 6 ), and I had to send one back twice too. I would complete another RMA, copy the origional repair receipt and send the origional one back to them with your busted Shuttle.

I don't think you can choose the tech to work on it but Derek Chen did a pretty good job taking care of the Shuttle I returned the second time. He matched my components as close as possible and ran 3D Mark overnight before shipping it back to me.
