Shuttle SN95G5 hanging at POST

I have the most annoying problem.

I turned my computer on last night and it hung at POST. The post screen shows the processor type and an option to choose my boot sequence (ESC) and to go to bios (DEL). But even when I press the DEL button, the computer doesnt respond.

After several retries, I lucked out. I left the computer at POST, after 10 min, the system did boot up to windows and everything seem fine. I rebooted the computer, and it hang at POST again.

If anybody had this sort of experience before, could you help? On top of my head, I think it is a motherboard problem.

Btw, my specs are:

SHUTTLE SN95G5 V2
AMD FX-53
1GB of Patriot PC3200
Seagate 200Gb HD
Sony DVD +/- RW

Thanks

Have you tried reseating and/or replacing the CMOS battery ?

Actually, before that, have you tried resetting the CMOS jumper on the motherboard ?

hmm I think I managed to solve the problem. For some odd reason, if I dont use the USB ports, the system will boot.
Weird. I will have to look it further .
