hey all,

i was planning on building an shuttle system based off the mobile Athlon XP 2400. It's going to be a tiny beast with 1gb of ram and an AIW Radeon 9800 + SB Audigy 2. Can anyone confirm if this works? I hear the nForce 2 Ultra 400 board on the SN45 allows for multiplier changes and the mobile Athlon is unlocked, so theoretically it should work...but we all know how theories work :) Thanks in advance!

Not a problem.

Good luck overclocking the little beast.

(don't touch the vdimm settings. it isn't worth it)

thanks for the tip on the vdrimm - i've only heard bad things when people mess with that. I almost want to replace the SN45 chassis with the SN41GV2 chassis (the black one)...make it look sleeker :)

Thinking of building one of these myself with leftover 1700xp and crucial pc2100 ram but I hear these boards are very picky on the ram they use. Any truth to this and that the P/S die a lot?? Dont care to OC at this time. Sorry if this is a little OT.

No truth to those rumors in my experience. I've had SN45G for many months now and it's rock solid running a 2400+@2700+ 2x256mb Corsair VS *Spectek* 2700DDR 333DDR dual channel synch mode. Mine came with the ACHME PSU which is better than the Enhance or whatever the other one they were using was. I use it as a HTPC and F@H cruncher so it runs heavily loaded including Gromac WU's 24/7. I've used Apacer 3200DDR w/ Samsung TCC4 chips in it with no issues either. I have been nothing but impressed with it so I highly recommend the SN45G.

Thanks, Dapunisher

Read the reviews at newegg for those tidbits.

Glad to see they did change the P/S s.

Have all these parts laying around and need to use them as cheaply as possible.

Kai beat me to it :).. I happily run 2.7v on my Kingston HyperX ram and it passed all memtests flawlessly. However, I have the famous SN45G with v.10 FN45 motherboard.

I'm seriously thinking of upgrading the the mobile AthlonXP 2600+ IF I can get 2400mhz out of it on the 200mhz FSB. Any cpu stepping suggestions?

Ok - I need help - with the radeon 9800, it posts without the floppy power connector - but it does not post when in the flopppy power connector to the video card or when i plug in the harddrive to the power connector?

Do i need to get the silentx 250 to get this thing (all in wonder 9800 radeon) enough juice?

It works with the 250W PS - i'd recommend anyone who wants to do this setup to do it with the 250W PS otherwise its hit or miss with the 200W. Thanks to all with their suggestions!
