Shuttle SN41G2 a little noisy: what should I do?

Hi all,

Yesterday afternoon, I got all the new parts, along with the Shuttle SN41G2. I assembled it and had it up and running rightaway. I started hooking up stuff and installing software and noticed that the fans (there is one fan in the PSU and one behind the CPU, on top of the heatpipe) were making more noise than I care to hear. It's not unbearable or anything, I'd just like to reduce it, if possible.
How should I go about reducing the noise coming from it? Should I change the system fan (it's a Sunon) to a slower Papst? How can I silence the PSU fan?

I also noticed, upon hooking up my speakers, that the center channel doesn't work. I tried to get it to work using the nForce control panel thingie, but to no avail. I'm afraid the jack might be bad, but that would really suck. Any syggestions/thoughts?

Here is the set-up for your reference:
Shuttle SN41G2
Athlon XP 2500+ (Barton)
2x 512MB Crucial PC2700 DDRAM (running at 333Mhz)
128MB Enhanced GeForce 4 Ti4200
WD2000JB HDD
Sony DRU-500AX
6 in 1 internal card reader
Klipsch ProMedia 5.1 Speakers

Thanks in advance.

change the fan with a PANAFLO L1A and install another PANAFLO fan underneath the harddrive, you want your harddrive to last long, dont you?

that's what i did to mine, it's quiet now:)

Thanks.

What about the fan in the PSU, though?

i write about my experience with a SB51G re. cooling and noise here: post - not a SN41G but faces the same issues.
