Hi everybody, So I got my SN25P <newegg rocks> and the spunky Gigabyte X800 XL fanless card... but wouldn't you know it the card doesn't fit! The card's heatsink ran up against the side of the case. So anyway, So I returned the card <thanks newegg> and am now looking at the MSI X800 XL card...

But before I plunk down the cash for this card, does a.) Anyone actually have the SN25P working with the MSI X800 XL? and/or b.) anyone know if this is a reasonably quiet card.

And, offhandedly, does anyone know why newegg won't accept returns for the MSI card? I wasn't so hesitant to buy it until I saw that warning...

Thanks everyone!

My CHAINTECH NVIDIA GeForce 6200 256MB DDR PCIE fit fine. My SN25P is practically silent, very quiet.

I was also thinking of using the MSI x800xl in a SN25P becase I read it is the quietest of all the x800xl (besides Gigabytes).

I see no reason why it wouldn't work, since all other x800xl work. Interesting note regarding NewEgg, i didn't even notice that.

My brother and I both got an SN25P two weeks ago or so. He got the gigibyte card you did and I got the MSI x800 xl from newegg. The card did not work, however it didn't work in another pci express system either so I sent it back to Newegg last week. They sent me out a new card, which I get today. So I'll find out if the darn card will work or not.

We thought maybe it could be a power issue, since the card didn't have a direct power connector to the power supply and maybe the pci slot wasn't getting enough power to it. However, it didn't work in another system that had a 400 watt power supply (something like that). So we chalked it up to a bad card.

At any rate, I should get the new card tonight and at some point get a chance to put it in. I'll let you know the results.

I have the SN25P and the MSI PCI-e X800XL and it works great. The fan on the MSI X800XL does spin up a bit and become far more noisy during games. Maybe there's a utility that I could use to control the fan speed, not sure.

Cheers,
