Has anyone heard any news/rumors about any upcoming Shuttle cube systems which will utilize Intel's new 800MHz FSB line of P4's? Over at sudhian forums they're very hush-hush "I-know-something-you-don't-know" about it, but it's very frustrating because this will determine several major purchases within the next few months. If I only could find out that there definitely will be one before May that would help immensely. Does anyone know anything about their upcoming products?

The following is speculation...
I reckon that 800 FSB SFF are comming. the question is when........as for the next product...its pretty well know that it will be a XPC server with dual PCI..Most likley a Intel platform.......whether the 800FSB will come before may, I doubt it...its already march now....shuttle normally take ages to release there products...

Hmm...so here is my dilemma:

I want to get a HT P4. If I wait until May, I can get the 3.06 for ~$400, or a 2.8 for maybe ~$325. These will be on the 800MHz FSB. If I get a Shuttle SB51G, it will support the HT but will still be on the 533 FSB. I'm trying to decide when I want to take the plunge. Basically I don't want to drop $300 for the Shuttle only to have the new one come out 2 weeks later.

Fortunately Shuttle mainboards are now upgradable. :) You can actually get one of the cheaper models and go with the monster down the road.... if it's worth it.

Because of the pending motherboard changes, I think I'm set on just getting a microATX case and board combo. ALMOST as small as a shuttle, but standard board and parts (minus PSU) and much cheaper and easier to upgrade. By a LARGE price difference.

But then price is important to me. ;)
