no agp :( but its one of those ZEN XPC's with the external PSU, which explains no AGP, although I wouldn't push a 3GHz processor in this, that PSU would burn up.

Sorry, people. I didn't notice no ps. I didn't know anyone made an sff w/o a ps. *after looking over the pics better*... What the hell is this thing?

It does have a psu. Its that black brick in the acc. pic. Its external. I like the styling of it. Looks clean except that the 5.25 bay door is shifted to the right. Looks kinda odd.

The PSU is external, but very capable. It's a power brick style PSU (just like the ones you get with laptops), it's fanless, and it gets pretty warm but never to the point of burning up.

This is a good PC for those who want something QUIET, but also relatively fast for productivity (but not for serious gaming, and not for 3D-intensive CAD/etc). The entire system uses one thermally controlled fan. In stock configuration, it is whisper quiet, and with a few mods (check out SilentPCReview.com...they mod this thing with one 80mm Panaflo, and a notebook HD) it is dead silent. 19 dB, in fact.

As for the drive bays being shifted...they engineered this thing to be SMALL and QUIET...so they cut down as much internal volume as they could. The space on the left side of the drive bay is used for the PCI card slot.

I made an all-white system for my parents in Florida with this ST62K, a 193p lcd, sony white DVD-RW, wireless Logitech combo, and JBL creature speakers. It looks sweet and works great. I put a 2.8 ghz Northwood in it, seems to be running flawlessly, hope my PSU doesn't "burn up."

Not only does it lack AGP, though, it outputs VGA only (from onboard vid). So, my next upgrade will be a 9250 pci card. I figure that should improve video performance and let me use DVI. BTW, the lcd looks great even with the VGA connection, haven't tried DVI yet though.

This is a great looking little system that does 99% of what most people use computers for with great performance, pretty good for everything but playing the latest games. It is Shuttle's best current answer to the Mac mini IMO, and it came out a year ago.

Do you remember what the model number was for the Sony DVD-RW? I want to get a DVD burner with a white faceplate, but my choices seem really limited.

Thanks in advance.

You can spray paint the face plates quite easily. I did a custom build for my niece where the case was silver and a greenish gold. I removed the front plate, cleaned it with 90% isopropyl alcohol, primed it, then painted a standard silver that matched perfectly. Home Depot had all the paints, and I forget where I got the alcohol, but it's good to remove finger oils.
