Shuttle SB81P + Dolby Live?

After reading this review and others on the ALC880 chip as well as some press releases on the shuttle site itself I was lead to believe this system is equiped with a dolby encoding feature.

However after having purchased I am not receiving any dolby digital stream from the system at any time. Nor does the provided audio software offer any configuration settings to enable it.

If the reviewer states this systems audio capabilities are exceptional especially because of surround sound specifically identified as dolby surround ex I'm sort of expecting this feature to be available. For the moment all I've gotten out of it is a stereo stream which is at best processed through dolby pro logic.
Sure I can hook up speakers through the analog jacks but that would defeat the purpose of having dolby live wouldn't it?

Anyway if this is all there is to it I wouldn't hardly say this is exceptionally high quality.... this is just what any other dumb audio solution provides. Namely a lot of analog outputs. Now maybe I'm doing something wrong but I do think it could be more clear on exactly how this feature works. It doesn't help there is no mention at all anywhere in the manual or the audio software itself other than that it is Intel HD Audio.

Does anyone else have this system and has gotten dolby live working?

The only audio chip that will do Dolby Digital encoding on the fly within games and such is Nvidias Soundstorm as included on Nforce 1 and 2. Sadly due to the infinite wisdome of some beancounters is no longer made making me rather dissapointed.

Because of the layout of my room I NEED to use a digital line to get to my Receiver. Soundstorm was really the best option for this but now it's gone 🙁. If at least Creative would get their head from out of their arse and actually be a bit "Creative" and make an Audigy with full Dolby Digital output in games it wouldn't be so bad... but nooooooooooooo

I'm just gonna go sulk now.

I know about the soundstorm but that's the entire point. Press releases have been made concerning Intel, C-Media and Realtek now using this very technology in their own products. That's what the dolby live tag is all about. That's why I was waiting for a Shuttle to be released that would support this feature.
On the Shuttle site they mention the availability of dolby live in some of their products. This one being the high end model I would expect it to be available. Also if there is no Dolby Live then how come all reviews mention it and say it's incredible?
If there is no Dolby Live then what is this awesome thing that makes this sound solution awesome for gamers.

I guess it's not there or nobody knows then. I still find it strange reviewers specifically mention dolby when it's only passthru for dvd movies.
