It's been a long time since I had to ask for help on a computer problem. In fact, I believe it's been a few years but here goes.
i have a shuttle MN31N that I've been using in my server for the past few years. It has an underclocked amd chip in there I believe it is a 2100. Some details on the system:
windows server 2003
I'm running 3 hard drives in it with no pci cards.
using onboard graphics
was originally a refurb bought from newegg
replaced OEM powersupply with something from a name brand company that was more powerful about a year ago
Ever since I received it I would have a problem with it shutting itself down once in awhile. I couldn't run 1 single Distirbuted computing project on it cause it would shut down. Unplug the cord, wait a few seconds, plug it in and then it would work. It would also shutdown during the super hot summer months. Oh and I never run it with the cover on the case cause it shuts down less.
Here's the problem now. New apartment, just moved. Before the move it would go months running fine. Now it runs for a few seconds and turns itself off. I cleaned everything from the hsf to the power supply and got rid of all the dust buildup. Doesn' t seem to have helped.
What is my problem? I'm going nuts not being able to access the content i have on it. I sorta don't want to replace the mobo cause then i would have to reinstall windows.
