Shuttle MN31 memory problems

my buddie has the shuttle and 1 stick of 256M of pc2100 and a 2400xp. He has a game that required 512M of ram. So I got him a stick of 512M of pc3200 thinking it was more upgradeable and overclockable.

I went over there today and took out the old stick and put in the new stick. I went into the bios thinking I was going to bump the FSB to 166 for the processor. That is when I noticed that there wasn't a multiplier setting. After some thinking I was remembering that this board was not a great overclocker. So I exited without making changes and boot windows. Windows was unstable and blue screened several times. I changed the slot the memory was in with same results. I did test this stick in another board with memtest but only for like 5 minutes. I am going to retest here in a bit. I am thinking at the moment anyhow that the stick is good and I had the settings in the bios wrong. The only thing is there is only one setting that can be changed related to memory. The other thing that led me to this conclusion is on bootup it would say memory bus 333 and the processor is at 133. I know some other nvidia boards had a real hard time running mem out of sync of the fsb. I was thinking this may be my problem.

Anyone out have experience with this board that can give me a couple of pointers?

Are both sticks single sided? If one if single sided, and one double sided, that could explain your problem. I would try just the pc3200 in each slot. I had to switch memory slots to get my memory to work properly.

I don't recall seeing where I can set the fsb to anything exotic on this particular board. I didn't spend much time with it though. My main interest is not overclocking althought if it were clean cut I would. My problem is getting this memory to work in the board.
