After removing one hard drive from a dual setup, the machine would no longer recognize the remaining hard drive. It takes forever to go through the "Detecting IDE Drives" process, and also takes forever to proceed after "Verifying DMI Pool Data" message displays. The system will boot to a floppy, but is unusable. I have already reset the motherboard via jumper with no success. If I switch the hard drive over to the second IDE channel, it is recognized without a problem, but the machine still will not boot. The CD-RW is recognized without a problem (but the machine will not boot from a bootable CD either). The hard drive that the mobo is having issues detecting works in other machines.
Any help in diagnosising the problem or fixing it would be appreciated.
Thanks
