The price has intrigued me to consider the board. Here's a review I found. Paste any you find here please :)

I just built 2 of the MN31N's and they are sweet! Got 'em for less than $60 shipped from Directron with the G4MX IGP, dual VGA hook ups, and MCP-T :D They don't have voltage or multiplier control but I used 2 1700+ B's and set them@185synch mode with Crucial 2700DDR in DC-DDR and they are fantastic budget systems. I've owned the AK31A too and it was also a great deal that overclocked well and was very stable and reliable. Shuttle is a good company and I definitely have confidence in their boards when I buy them.

The AN35N doe snot have the MCP-T southbridge. For $85 at newegg.com you can get a Epox with the MCP-T southbridge.

But DAPUNISHER how did you get the MN31n for $60??? Shows up as $92. $60 is flamming hot deal for that board, as it does have the MCP-T southbridge.

You can see it's 53$ on this page but they're sold out and probably won't have it at that price again since it was a June promotional item :( I could kick my own a$$ for not ordering more than 2 now!

The only one I see for that price is the...

so: Shuttle MK35N SocketA Micro ATX Motherboard, VIA KM266 Chipset, FSB266, DDR266, USB2.0, ATA133, AGP4X, Audio, CNR, Video & LAN

And that is a KM266 VIA chipset??

The MN31N is available at eXcaliberPC.com for $79. UPS Ground S&H $5. Not anywhere near as good as the "DAPUNISHER" Directron deal, but possibly a warm deal, especially if your looking for a micro ATX?
MN31N

For what it is worth, and it isn't much, it comes with:
"FREE 10PCS BLANK SINGLE BOX CD-R DISC"

I just ordered a AN35N Ultra for $66 shipped from newegg.com, see here. It sure sounds like an excellent no frills board. Check Nforcershq for additional comments from users of this board on their forums page for shuttle. I am looking forward to getting mine next week and will let you know how it goes.

MWave.com has the AN35N Ultra for $53.50 before shipping, too. Right here. :D I think this could be another budget champ like the K7S5A, what do you guys think?

I like Mwave, they used to be my first choice BN (before newegg), but I think "the egg" ships faster, and if you go for the 3 day shipping from multiwave, the cost plus shipping is the same as newegg's cost. And from what I have heard you may be right about the AN35N being the new budget champ, except hopefully without some of the infamous K7S5a issues (memory and PS issues, having to split one of the connectors, etc.)

I recently purchased a Shuttle AN35N. Before I installed it in my machine my son scarffed it up and wrote me an IOU. He plays a lot of games on his machine (lately Neverwinter Nights online).

I installed the AN35N on his machine. I had 2 problems, but they probably weren't due to the board. My son's hard drive was formatted in FAT32 instead of NTFS and the Windows XP Pro had problems reading the hard drive after it was installed with new mobo. Possibly some files were corrupted. After reformatting (in NTFS) it worked fine.

Also my son has an Athlon XP1600+ , but he also scarffed up my Mushkin Promo DDR PC3200. The board ran the processor at 266 mHz and the memory at 400mHz which caused some stability problems (I am not sure if the board did this or if he went into BIOS). Both now are running rock steady at 266 now. Have a XP2600+ (333mHz FSB) which he needs to install so the memory isn't wasted. So we are not pushing this mobo at all, but it is a nice mobo. Not too many other nForce2 Ultras out there for this price.

My son has a window on the side of his machine and the blue PCB looks nice also.

Finally got and installed the Shuttle AN35 Ultra. Had some initial problems, but all were resolved. First I had to grind the edge off my big alpha heat sink so it would fit around the capacators. Then it didn't recognize my XP 1800+ Paly at first. Tried updating the bios, then unlocked the chip (finally) and then it worked. I'm not sure if that's what did it or if the bios just finally decided to recognize it or what. The bios was very easy to update. Got the board to run on the most aggressive memory settings (and other settings also) and works great. However, with those settings I really can't do much overclocking. I could overclock my old Soyo Dragon Plus to 280 FSB (everything is the same except the MB), but the Shuttle AN35N Ultra doesn't rate any higher benchmarks if I overclock any higher. Even at that, I can only overclock the FSB to about 272 before any problems. With the FSB at 266, I can only get the chip to 12.5 (stock 11.5) before some problems. The good side is the performance without overclocking the Shuttle is just a little less then my Soyo overclocked, without the higher temps. The other good thing is that in January (when prices have come down), I'll be able to get one of the Barton 400's. My Soyo was only able to take a 2100 XP Paly, and they are all pretty much gone (and not worth the upgrade anyway). All in all, I feel I got my $61 worth. My biggest disappointment was the Soyo. I bought it when it came out (rave ratings) with the idea that it was upgradeable. Not really a lot of head room there. -njrich2

Thanx for the review Rich :) Listen, why don't you relax the timings and shoot for a higher FSB? Timings are highly over rated vs FSB speed. Just 5mhz more fsb speed will be faster than tighter timings.

Got mine in today. I will likely be setting it up tomorrow with a 2100+ Tbred B until my 1700+ DLT3C comes in on Monday. I got this to replace an 8RDA+ that is a 1.0 from the original batch of NF2 boards, and tops out @ 185mhz FSB with two XMS LL modules. I've got no need for Firewire on this system, and I will be using a Philips AE soundcard, Leadtek TV2000XP Deluxe TV/FM card, and a Retail Radeon 8500 128mb. It's going in a blue Chieftec "Dragon" case with blue LED fans and a dual blue CC setup, so the blue PCB should look nice. My initial impression are good. The layout is good, with the exception of the ATX connector being over by the IDE ports.

The board is very clean due to the stripped down nature of it, and there are large areas of PCB unused. I took off the passive NB heatsink, which is pretty decent and looks real similar ot the one used on the Asus boards. The NB is a 0311, and I will be applying either some AS3 or cermamique before I re-install the heatsink.

I'll post my results when I'm done...:)

Actually...no. I ordered from Mwave on Tuesday and I'm all the way on the other side of the country in New Hampshire. I chose 3 day shipping thinking it would be here by Friday, and it came to $61 shipped...less than Newegg. I was pleasantly surprised when it came in two days, today instead of Friday. :)

Lookin' forward to your results. If it runs as well as the users at Nforcershq are saying it does then what with the color scheme you are going with it'll be true blue :p Man was that a cheesey pun or what?

I just placed my order today for this mobo on mwave.com. Newegg's price has went up to $74 over the weekend, but mwave.com is still steady at $55.00 plus $8+ shipping.

Ordered this with the RaidMAX case from newegg with bubble lights and kinda odd window in the side.

Gonna hopefully set it up to dual-boot WinXP Pro and linux, maybe Red Hat or Suse. Should get everything Wednesday or Thursday, so I'll update and let everyone know how everything works out. Putting in 1800+.
