since there is no pin difference between axp 256kb and axp 512kb, i'm guessing it should work

what i have in it now is a durong 1.6ghz, i am replacing it with and axp-m 2400+ 35W

the buss can only run at 266, which is fine cause i can use the multiplyer to oc.

anyone tired this.

the bios contains lots of ocing features, multiplyer/bus adjustments, just not pci and agp dividers for anything over 266fsb

Good question. I would definitely check out Shuttle for the latest bios....Oh, heck, hold on a minute.

It looks like the latest bios supports Thorton CPUs.

If you had just a plain old Barton, I'd say there's a good chance it would work, but I dunno about an XP-M.

Possbily, being that you're just overclocking straight off the multi, it will WORK, but the CPU might not be recoginzed properly. I.E. you 'll get your 2400MHz or whatever, but Windows will report "800MHz Barton" or something like that.

Confuscious say: One way to find out. :D

Good luck.

ps
I have this mobo in my server. No overclock, obviously. It's a great board. Stable as a rock.

for a while witht he old bios, it did not recognize the 1.6ghz duron, it just said unkown cpu, 1600mhz,

i think with the barton mobile i'm putting in tonight, it should still read as an amd cpu, it will just give the clock speed at boot, even witht eh unrecognized duron in mbm it said 1600mhz, even after updating the bios. it does regognize the duron not with new bios

how much do you think of a performance hit will i see between a 266fsb barton @ 2.4ghz and a 2.4ghz barton at 400mhz fsb?? anyone

update, apparently its highest multiplyer even with the newest bios is 12.5X, anyone know how to get higher multiplyers?

so i have a 1.8ghz mobile barton that is currently running at 1662mhz :(
