Shuttle AK35GTR - does it have the 1/5 divider? Need some help, please.

I just purchased some kickass memory. A 512mb stick of Corsair PC3200. I have no intentions of trying for a 180MHz FSB. I would like to try for 166, though. Problem is that my PCI devices will flip out at that kind of bus speed, unless my board has that divider.

I have searched thru the bios and see nothing to "turn on" to activate this divider. Can you help me out?

Thanks very much, Klah. You pointed me in the right direction. I checked and my BiOS does not have the divider option in the "frequencies" area nor anywhere else. :( I checked Shuttle's page for an updated BiOS and there is a new one dated May 2002 (I have the original shipping BiOS). I read the readme and it doesn't say anything about adding a divider. :(

I wonder if I could flash the board with the AK35GTR2 BIOS, and just make sure I run everything "safely?"

So, bump for me.!

Sorry but you have a KT266a board, so NO 1/5 Divider.

And don't try to put the AK35GT2 bios on as it will mess your board up.

Hi Marlin,
Yeah, I know about not putting the GT2 BiOS on there...I was just being desparate. ;) When I get the memory, I'll OC the FSB until I can't go anymore....then maybe I'll get a AK35GTR2. I like Shuttle boards; this one is really nice and has been really stable and easy to setup.

I agree, the AK35GTR is a great board, I know , I use to own one before I went to a Dual Athlon XP 1600.
BUT if you are looking for the overclocker board, look at the Epox board that has the 8235 Southbridge. I know it has a 1.5 Divider.

The AK35GTR2 has the 1/5th divider as well; it's a KT333 (166FSB) board. I"ve no desire to buy a KT400 board right now.
