I'm going to get an xp 1800 and some crucial ddr memory but I can't quit decide on a motherboard. The AK31A is only 67 dollars at newegg. That sounds like a nice price because I want to upgrade from my OC'ed PIII but can't spend an arm and a leg. I'm just about to see if anandtech has a review of this motherboard but if there are any other good reviews I should see could someone point me to them? Also anyone who has one how does it run? Have you had any problems with it? Some of the newegg user reviews mention voltage problems. I'm probably going to overclock so this worries me a little. Anyone run into anything like that? Thanks!!!

You'll find tons of info on the OC workbench Shuttle Forum. I have a new one sitting in a box that I have booted to test and nothing more. Yes, there is some trouble with the voltage but unless you are planning some extreme overclocking, it shouldn't be any trouble. If you are, then you bought the wrong board. That being said, it is a nice, stable system as far as my testing went.

I've had an AK31A running in my son's machine for a couple months now and it's been very stable....even done a little oc'ing with it....nothing too crazy though. Just be carefull what heatsink you chose. It won't take some of the larger ones.

UncleBastard,
Just do a
Google Search and a bunch of reviews should pop up!

As far as performance, this is a high quality board without the bells and whistles. I had
mine for roughly 5-6 months until I sold it for a Epox KT333. To tell you the truth their
is no difference between the boards, besides the fact that the Epox has excellent OCing
abilities. Also my Epox has onboard RAID which is a huge plus. However, check the refurbised section for a lower price at NewEgg!

You should get an incredible value with this mobo. Very stable and had no problems
whatsoever. I recommend it! Also if you want RAID onboard look into the AK35GTR!

I switched to the shuttle board a few months ago & have had no problems with it. I have an XP 1700 in it at 140mhz FSB. I have read a few reviews on it that were real good. Check out the shuttle website, I believe that they have links to the reviews.

$67 sounds good if you are on a budget. I too have the ak31 V3.1 with a 1600 and i have to remember to reboot some times it is so stable. but if you
are a serious overclocker you might want to spend an extra 20 bucks for the ak35 wich has a core voltage adj up to 2.3v.

I have an AK31a and think it's the best bang for the buck out there.
