Well I got ak31 rev.2 last week from sofisticated. It came with lates bios 207.
I also got 4 sticks of 256mb pc2100 ECC registered from crucial. I finally finished setup my comp 2 days ago. First I install WindowsMe with 512mb since it only use that amount. The next day i was puzzled about memory issue with this motherboard like the rest of you guys are, i start to find out about it. Thats how i got to this page. After I have read all of the messages, I was totally believed that i need UNBUFFERED NON ECC RAM to use 4 sticks of ram to get into windows 2000 pro. So without further ado, I called back crucial and ask for exchang and apperently the memory are on its way.
NOW,I got home and was very curious about using 4 sticks of ECC Registered ram and getting into windows 2000 pro. I try to install windows 2000 pro with 4 memory sticks, it stop in the middle of process. So I took out 512mb and try and I was able to setup the OS without any problem.
After that I closed windows and put it back 512mb and try to boot with 1024MB to my surprise, I was able to get in and benchmark 3dmark 2001.
I believe 4 STICK OF ECC REGISTERED MEMORY WORKS. Now I dont know what do i do with the UNBUFFERED NO ECC RAM WICH I SUPPOSE to get this friday. I guess I am gonna try with those also and try to benchmark Memory with sisoft and see which ever got better score..i am gonnn keep it.
