Hi. Please help me with this problem

I've got Win XP on my comp and whenever i want to turn it off:

At the screen where it says - it's now safe to turn off your computer

i have to press the power button to turn it off:

IS THERE A WAY, the system can turn itself off fully....with the power off

Thanks

I, too, have the same problem.

However, when enabling ACPI I try to shutdown and it reboots instead. Any ideas? I'm running an old socket7 asus p5a mobo (yeah, I should try to upgrade someday ...)
