Shutting down a pc

I am tired of dealing with something on several computers that I deal with.. When I go to shut down a computer it doesnt completely turn off, but goes to the "It is now safe to shut off your computer." I am tired of seeing this screen and I dont know what the option to look for is called.

Why does it do this and how can I turn this off? I assume its something in the bios but I dont see anything. The system i am messing with now is an ASUS K7M mobo

thanks. yeah thats what i was thinking but i didnt know what the hell it was called... acpi stuff
