Shutdown problem after changing from AGP to PCI video card... pls. help!

I just changed my video card from an AGP nvidia card to an old pci matrox card and am now having a shutdown problem.... computer goes through the shutdown process but always RESTARTS....

Any thoughts?

hmm i can't explain your problem from the context that you have stated.

but do you have Easy CD Creator on your system, i have seen probs w/ it and shutdowns crop up after hw changes (just needed to update to the latest version)

I dont have easy cd creator and I have the latest Logitech drivers for my keyboard.....

using win xp pro and i uninstalled the nvidia drivers before installing the new card.

Try reinstalling the Nvidia chipset drivers for your nforce board.

I reinstalled the drivers but it keeps happening.... is there a setting in bios that i am overlooking?

this is a bug with the Nforce drivers, disable restart on system failure, you will find this option when you right click on My computer-Properties-Advanced-Startup and Recovery.

Once you do that, you will get a driver error of file nv_agp.sys creating problems. The only solution I have found is deleting this file. You however need this file if you go back to AGP.
