I use Perfect Disk as a schedule task and because I have multiple accounts on each PC with passwords, the offline portion of PD will not work because PD does not allow for a force shutdown/reboot. Thus I use shutdown.exe in XP as a task to reboot the computer 10 mins before PD is schedule to run. However, shutdown.exe does not always work.
In my scheduled task, Shutdown is run with 3 switches, -f -r -c. 2 out of 3 of my machines does not work. On my IBM laptop, it works just fine every time. On my Dell laptop, it works, but instead of doing a reboot, it does a shutdown. Finally on my custom build, it does not work at all, no shutdown or reboot. I tested a opening a basic notpad file a the schedule time and that works ok.
Is there a way to get shutdown to work all of the time or is there an alternative app that I can use to reboot the machine on a schedule time.
