So many posts on this forum, so many discussions in the united states, and so much time in the news is being given to trying to 'define' the type of persion who voted for bush or kerry. But you know what? It doesn't really matter! That sort of thing has the tencency to sort itself out.

What matters is that the united states is engaged in a war, is in need of intelligence reform, has ridiculously high crime rates, and has a poverty rate that is unacceptable.

What do we do about real things?

poverty -- I think that welfare is a great institution, but it should not be an indefinite handout. that said, however, in one of the richest nations in the world, no child should have to worry about not having enough food or a safe and warm place to sleep at night, no matter how fvcked up their parents are.

That is the fundamental problem with welfare. We don't wanna give money to able-bodied people for nothing, but we don't want their children to be screwed over either.

GWB won so:

poverty: tough nuggies, if you are poor it is your fault and it is up to you to do something about it. Also you are poor because of government interference. You probably voted for Kerry anyway.

healthcare: tough nuggies if you can not afford good healthcare.

The Iraqi war: Saddam was a threat to the US....

Shrinking middle class: tough nuggies. Too bad if you can not compete.

Intelligence reform: more government only makes sense if it benefits business

Crime: tough nuggies if you can not afford to live in a low crime area. If you live in a high crime area you probably voted for Kerry anyway.

we made the first step in improvement.we elected GWB again.

The raping of our environment, the new policy of corporate welfare, religious entities seeping into our government, our civil liberties being assailed, our foreign policy being a joke, the exectutive branch turning fascist, it goes on and on... Yep....loads of improvements there. Thank goodness GWB won. :disgust:
