Hi!!!

The computer with the problem is:
P4 1.7ghz
MB Asus P4B266-C
256 DDR
Video Card GeForce 2 TI
Modem Aopen FM56-PM
CD-ROM 52X and CD-Writer 32X10X40 LG
HD Maxtor 20 gig 7200RPM
Floppy Panasonic
Sound Blaster Live 5.1 Dolby

Ok... my problem is: After a fresh installation of Windows 98se (with Intel 845 drivers), when i reboot the computer, it freeze on "Shut down of windows" screen.

But if I remove the sound blaster, it's ok the computer reboot perfectly!!!

I use a recently drivers for the sound blaster and I try the "Microsoft Windows98 Shut down Path" without result. =(

Thanks to advance

This was a known issue quite a long time ago, I'm not sure if I correctly remember every detail but here goes:

1) In the BIOS, set IRQ 5 to reserved
2) Also in BIOS, if you don't use a USB keyboard or mouse in DOS, disable legacy USB support
3) In the Device Manager, disable Interrupt Sharing for one of the listed SB Live devices (can't remember which)

Hope that helps,
