these are great cans, for anyone for a pair. i guess now that the shure e3c is out they're dropping the price, but these ones still sound great. dunno how much they're going for now, but by last year's standards this is definitely a hot deal.

if you're still listening to the stock ipod headphones, please please please grab a pair of these if not anything better. it boggles my mind that one would use something that costs 300 dollars to generate the music, but refuse to come out the pocket for the thing that generates the noise.

p.s. these are the variety you stick into your ear, and you really can't hear jack else when you have them on. I really like them when I'm settling in to read papers or write some code at work. they look a little like a hearing aid, and take a bit to learn how to put in, but have a nice, even sound.

I just bought the E3C about a week ago from ecost for $118 shipped. Those things are really, really sweet. For this price, the E2c's are a good deal. OP might want to put "E2C" model in the topic.

Yup... great deal for excellent earbuds. Inf fact, I bought a couple of these after Xmas. It tooke me a couple of days to get it to fit into the ear canal just right, otherwise it will sound flat.

Little OT, but where is the best place to get replacement foams for the E2C's. The plastic ones hurt my ears, but the foams wear quickly. I need the midsize ones. It would be nice to not have to purchase a variety pack.

I love these earphones. My commute is now pleasant.

Shure will soon be releasing e2 Ultra-Soft Flex Sleeves that are currently available for the e3/e5's. So you may want to wait and buy a set of these. They will be much more comfortable than the normal flex sleeves that come with the e2's.

Thanks for the heads up. Where is the best place to get these? From Shure direct?

IMO through shure directly. Keep an eye out on their website under earphone accessories Link

I'm really itching to try them. Can't wait!

how would these be for, say, running? and would a thumb drive mp3 player deliver enough power through them?

These probably aren't a good idea for running as you will hear the pounding of your feet and heart with these in your ears. Their impedance is only 16ohm, so they are very easy to drive and should have no problems being powered a thumbdrive player.

BTW, for replacement foamies, the cheapest place I've found is on eBay. $9.99 shipped for a pack of 10 (5 pairs).

hmm, that's a good point. can you think of any headphones suitable for exercise that can be driven by a thumb drive?

Excellent headphones for the price, nice clean bass. Kinda regret that I sold them now, thinking about ordering them again :)

I bought the Ultra-Soft Flex Sleeves for the E2 but they sould TERRIBLE. No bass at all. I love the sound when using the foams and was expecting the Ultra-Soft Flex Sleeves to sound as well, or better. Am I doing something wrong? Has anybody been able to get decent sound out of these things when using the Ultra-Soft Flex Sleeves?

I put on a pair of crappy Sony clip-on phones the other day for my ride to work. I had to crank the volume on my Rio Karma almost to the max to hear the music over the subway and it sounded like crap. With my e2c's I could listen at less than 50% volume and everything was crisp and clear. This sucks. :(

are these good for home use? i don't have a mp3 player but i have to use headphones at night when others go to sleep. i bought a pair of kinyo 5.1 but they started to have popping sound from the wireless router being close to the amp. i might sell that and get a pair of these but i have never purchased ear buds that cost more than $20.
