Long story short, I managed to screw up the cables for both of my E2C earphones. Because of that, they only made sound half the time. Anyways, I called Shure and was completely honest about what was wrong, rep just told me to send them in with their RMA form, write down exactly what's wrong, and wait and see. Tuesday, I send in my clear E2Cs using Priority Mail with a note describing the occasional lack of sound in the earphones, and a witty request for black headphones instead if they agree to replacing them. Fast forward to today, I get a UPS box from Shure with *fanfare* BRAND NEW black E2Cs in them; I was only required to send in the earphones even though I have all the accessories. Now THAT is service.

My question is, I now have in my hands NIB black E2Cs, you guys think it's worth selling them to move up to E4Cs? I absolutely love the way these sound and would be even happier to get E4Cs, I was just wondering if anyone knew how much better they are. For example, if they're like the difference between Logitech's Z-5300e speakers and their Z-5500 speakers, then it isn't worth it. But if it's like the difference between all of Logitech's speakers combined and an awesome Paradigm home theater setup, then please, let me know :p.

I just printed out my Amazon invoice and sent it with them. If you can't prove the date of purchase they go by date of manufacture, it's stamped somewhere on them.
