Shrinking iso files

Hey guys,

I downloaded a Linux distro, and the iso file is 750mb. I cant burn it onto a cd, because my cd's are 700mb. Is there any way to shrink an iso file?

All help appreciated.
Thanks.

The only way you can shrink ISO's is by deleting stuff on the ISO, with a program like WinISO or another ISO editing program. Their is no magic tricks!! 🙂

I've not done much overburning (usually nothing more than 710-715mb), but 750mb seems a little bit excessive. I don't know if you'll be able to fit 750mb on a 700mb CD-R.

An ISO is usually bigger than the actual files,a 750 meg ISO doesn't mean it will need a 750meg blank cd.

Just try & burn it & I bet you a regular 80min blank cd will be just enough space.

Hi,
The distro was SUSE. I overlooked the size of the iso. The first iso was 700mb, not 750. My cousin told me about winiso. I was able to fit it on an 80 minute cd though.

Thanks.
