Shredder advice please ....

Looking to get some shredders in the office.

Not sure if we should do 1 nice heavy duty one in a central location or several (4-5) for the office staff (ie one for each person).

Needs to be able to do a fair # of pages at one time since I am not hiring someone to sit around and shred all day.

FYI this is an accounting firm and we produce a fair bit of trash per day.

What brands/models would you guys suggest.

Thanks

Greg

Buy a big industrial one. Standard desk shredders are slow and jam often. The big ones are a lot faster, shred staples, cd media. The cost will probably be similar by the time you buy higher security shredders for everyone. Get a diamond cut or whatever they're doing these days...

Staples or Office Depot....see what brands they carry.

When you say fair amount, do you mean like trash cans full or just a good ream or two of paper?

I used to work for a shredding service that handled clients like banks, hospitals, schools, accounting firms, etc. Depending on the volume of documents, we would schedule service from once a week to once every 3 months, and we would only charge depending on how many containers were emptied. We also supplied the lockable containers (several types to choose from). You may want to look into that type of service.
