On 2K machines it's in c:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc. There's this nifty little feature called "Find" that Windows provides too...

Oh, BTW, I found the prefetch info CPA was looking for at TweakXP - I noticed that my rig's performance went to Suck after using the prefetch=5 tweak, so I knocked it back to 3. Much better now.
