Showing " loading details" instead of the Windows XP loading screen

I recall that there was a way to change the Windows XP loading screen (the one that shows the logo and the blue or green bar) so that it shows some text related to what is going on during Windows startup. Does anyone know how to do this or am I taking crazy pills?

I'm hoping this will show me what is hanging up my Windows start up.

Add the switch "/SOS" to your Boot.ini file.
