Hi,

I'm using a corsair force series 3 60gb ssd in Asus x58 saber-tooth motherboard.Changed it in ACHI mode and installed win 7.At the system tray i see,the safely remove hard drive option. When i right click it,"Eject corsair force series ssd ATA Device" option is available.Normally it appears when we plug some pen drive or external hard disk.Anybody knows why it appears?

This happens because you’re using the default Microsoft drivers for AHCI, and they expose the hot-swap mechanism directly to the user. If you install Intel’s storage drivers the icon won’t show up in such situations.

He doesn't have to turn it off, as BFG10K has said, he should really be using the latest Intel RST driver which is 10.8.0.1003.

Although saying that, my Asus default UEFI settings are hot-swap disabled for all ports and thats how I have left it. I have no desire to hot-plug in a SATA drive so to me it's just something else which can interfere with system stability.
