For cleaning, shower. It also saves water if you dont goof off.

But once in a blue moon I will soak in some bubbles just for fun.

How could sitting in dirty water ever be better? The only acceptable bath is the one where you take a quick shower afterwards and thus it is no longer a bath but a pre-soak. If the only option is a bath then that is preferable to being European.

Showers work better for their stated goal, but baths are more pleasant. The difference is marginal though. It's not like anyone is going take a look at you and know which one you did last is there?

Showers for cleaning. Baths for de-stressing. Soaking up to your eyeballs in hot water is a great way to relax.

I haven't had a bath since we moved out of our old house that didn't have a shower. That was ~12 years ago.

I would like baths more if I could fit in the tub well. I'm not even that tall (just a bit over 6 feet) and I can't get comfortable in a regular bath tub.

Standard shower technology in general is pretty abysmal. Why, for instance, aren't showers with two heads (say on either side of the tube) common? It would not only make for a warmer shower as both sides of your body would have warm water on them always, but also showering with the SO is 110% more awesome.

To get clean, a shower.

Completely wrong. To get clean, you SOAK in a bath which gets you clean all over and thoroughly, rinsing off with a brief shower at the end. Soaking reaches every pore. A shower, despite what you think, is hit and miss.

You think you hit every part of your body BUT YOU DON'T EVEN COME CLOSE. I know this from working in a hospital some summers while in high school and college. Each time I re-upped, we had to go through the training where you tried to wash your hands thoroughly with "electric" soap, and then they showed you with ultraviolet light ALL THE PLACEs YOU MISSED DESPITE YOUR VERY BEST EFFORTS.

It was . . . enlightening.

More wrongness: "sitting in dirty water." You should know that soapy water suspends the dirt, same as with dishes in the sink.

That's why you SOAK those auto parts you want to thoroughly de-grease instead of just spritzing them! See?

And, of course, you end with a brief shower. Best of both worlds.

I make mine a dead cold one, to help close my pores, wake me up, and make me a manly, manly man. ;)

Hot tubs are the only tubs of water I'm ever gonna sit in again. Regular baths are for poor folk and the 16th century.

I've never gotten used to showers. At home I always take a bath, every day.

Baths use so much more water and take longer.
