Buy a good one clean it every so often or just buy cheap ones and replace when they get yucky?

Took mine out to clean it today and the dog ran all over it as I was cleaning it off. ended up putting several small holes, plus a 2-3" slit in it.

Even cleaning it with a brush didn't clean it all that well.

I bought a high quality rubber curtain a while back and cleaned it once every 6 months.
The cloth outside curtain doesnt get washed. I think I need to dry clean it one day.

Get a liner made of polyester material that can be thrown in the washing machine (you don't have to put it through the dryer, although I would hope that goes without saying). They're not expensive at all. I've had the same liner for at least 10 years. After some washings it will be a little less water resistant, but a liner doesn't need to be waterproof. Your bathroom won't get wet even if the liner gets soaked, and the shower curtain can get a little damp without any harm.

Spray the inside side of it with Lysol spray every now and then (every so often) to keep the mildew from taking over.
