Well, not to get too graphic but my ex used to REALLY like it when I would tongue her belly button in a similar manner to other activities a guy would use his tongue for. She said when I did it she would feel it, to use the OP's word, "below" like the two were connected. That IS what you meant by "below" im assuming.
