NO FLAME

many ppl are agreeing, is no point to reflatten Afghanistan. However, the terrorist must be caught. But instead of bombing the place, we get the terrorist(s) and helpe rebuild Afghanistan (just like how we showed some US love toward Germany and Japan)? Thoughts?

Initially, I was all for warfare, but problem is, creates more anti-America sentiment. At least US could show we do have a soul and we are humans trying to help each other out.

Dunno if I'm crazy, but let me know

if we do help them it will probably be after warfare or a major strike... only if it's safe for us to do so

The only place a war would create anti-American sentiment is in places that hate us already. Britain, Australia, France and several other countries are supporting us with our retaliation. If anything, not going to war would create an anti-American sentiment around the world.

<<helpe rebuild Afghanistan>>

A way of saying thanks for harboring this *sshole for the past thirteen years?

<<(just like how we showed some US love toward Germany and Japan)?>>

That was AFTER we bombed and defeated them. We were responsible for much(or all) of the damage.

i think that if we don't take action, others might view that the US is soft and can be taken advantage of. Others then may try to make more terroist attacks.

but hey, after we get the terrorist, then what? Are we going to keep pushing them down so that MORE terrorists can come in?

We need to point out that though the non-official government harbored a terrorist, we will show love by helping them rebuild with democracy

I beleive there are NOT TOO many nations in the world that are non-democracy and let terrorist live except for places like Libya, etc.

I agree with Tauren, you gotta tear down to rebuild effectively. We wiped out Germany and Japan prior to rebuilding them. We demeaned them in their defeat before we helped them rebuild to become allies with us. That is what it will take.

Afghanistan has been wiped out by the USSR, civil war and Israel, its time for a buildup.

This is a war against Terrorists and not people.

LOL, I'm in favor of showing them just as much "love" as they currently display to women.Let's give em all burka's to wear while we publically whip and stone them to death.

czar - I DO NOT agree with destrying an entire Country to bring a handful of terrorists to justice. But, I do not think we should pay for them to rebuild a country we did not destroy.

Yo Crazy. It's the places that support terrorists where the anti-American stuff is coming from. All/most of these places will be wiped out in our pending war, therefore no more anti-American stuff anymore :)

Words of truth. The Taliban is doomed regardless of involvement in what happened Tuesday.

They need to hand over Bin Laden. That's the only thing that will save their government. If they continue to harbor the murderer of innocent women and children, then they deserve to be destroyed along with the country they rule over.

You are idiots the ties go much deeper than one country.

Multiple cells of terrorist groups participated in the operation and the
hijackers had possible ties to countries that included Saudi Arabia and
Egypt, said law enforcement officials, speaking on condition of
anonymity.

Egypt and Saudi are american allies, are you going to bomb them too?

That's pretty much what I've been advocating. If we americans are truely better than the terrorists than this is the best course of action to take. One cannot deny the power martyrdom has...just look at christianity. We don't want bin Laden to become a martyr, we want to prove to the islamic world that he is evil.

Will we still be at risks of future terrorism? Yes. Will we if we flatten Afganistan? Most definitely. Either way we go there will always be a risk of fanatics who are willing to kill themselves and any number of people for a cause. Working to eliminate the cause, rather than the fanatics themselves will ultimately help the situation. If we simply wipe them out, more will come to replace them. Kill the cause.

WAKE-UP my friend!

<< Egypt and Saudi are american allies, are you going to bomb them too? >>

Some allies, the people of those countries held celebrations in the street after the ATTACK!
The people in those countries don't even like thier gov't, they say US support is the only thing keeping them in power. They welcome a war to remove thier leaders and put terrorist in power...

Seems strange, but it ensures our safety, less problems in the world, safer we are.

Lets take one step at a time here. First we need to know that Afganistan is involved. Assuming it is, then we need to know how they plan to respond to our demands of extradition. A that point there will be several options.

REbuilding their country probably won't be one. They don't like Americans remember?

Definitely a step in the right direction. In times like these we must know how to show love, because that shows more moral character. Revenge is never the answer!
