I wouldnt mind seeing a signature there. Dunno if it would add any load to the servers though, would it?

I would too. It'd help the lazy people like me who are too lazy to go look for one of the person's posts and find their heatware link :) I don't know if it'd add too much load to the servers, I wouldn't think it would be too much.

yeah, that was my reasoning bryce...

the signature has links to heatware and other feedback that can be relevant when dealing with someone in FS/T, so it would be useful to see it in private messages.

Ahh never thought about that, good point. Its also helpful for any other website they might reference.

Would be beneficial for those who's signatures have information, and a possible nuisance for those with sigs that you couldn't care less for. As a sort of compromise, I'd like to be able to see someone's sig when I click on their profile. The information's already there so it wouldn't take a huge paradigm shift.

This way, you don't have to see the 10 line "this is my peni...er, system" sigs and are one click away from the ones that have more value to you. Given that the PM interface was recently given the valuable ability to click directly into someone's profile, I see nuthin' but good stuff. ;)

Not to mention that if sigs were displayed in all PM's, the PM history view for a particular user could conceivably be a nightmare.

nobody would gain anything from my sig in PMs... maybe it could be an option if others find it useful.

It would also be nice to have a dedicated spot for heat in profiles so it wouldn't need to be included under "website".

While it wouldn't make enough sense to have a dedicated heatware field (given that the majority of folks don't use it), but it would be valuable to have a place in the profile (sig, for example) that could have a direct link.

well, since no ones reading this, i think a PM subject field would be useful too

re: PM Subject Line

Yet another case of minimal effort on your part to give the functionality you want. Just a couple little keystrokes and you can write any topic you'd like (see above). Personally, I like that a little better than writing a subject and tabbing (or clicking) to the message body to give it some text.

actually, i always put a subject in my PMs, unless I am in the midst of conversation with the recipient...

but I would guess there is a waste of bandwidth with people having to send PMs something along the lines of "what was the last message about?" usually in response to a message like "ill give you $20" sent to traders in the FS/FT forum.

this isnt a laziness issue on my part. its the fact that no one else puts friggin subjects in their PMs, and often extra PMs become necessary to figure out what a message was about.

Good call. :) I will often copy and paste the whole message (or some of it) to give the person some frame of reference about the PM.

Not In This Lifetime

;) j/k

I often find myself quoting PM's because I know if people reply a day later I'll totally forget what they were talking to me about...

And signatures wouldn't put that much more stress on the servers (not at least that I could comprehend..)

Another vote for this feature which is a lot more useful than displaying one's sig in a PM.

if we dont like the *OPTION* of having a sig in the PMs...

how about at the very least a little glasses button to show the profile, so we can have access to an email address?
