Winner of the sweetest setup award! Even that chair looks expensive.

It is. It's a Herman Hiller Aeron chair. Very nice.

Yet another person who stacks their surround speakers.

Get a quality 2.1 setup if you don't know the basics of how surround sound works.

Oooo, I didn't catch that. Yeah, that's not good man. I agree, just get 2.1 speakers. What's the point of "surround sound" speaks being up front?

here's the desk (old pic)

NERD Story:

I was wondering why my CPU normal temps were going up (X2 3800+, 2.4ghz), usually they idle around 38c, but i noticed they were idling about 45c instead. I take off the clear CPU fan (see above) and there was this BLANKET of dust that prohibited airflow probably 90%.

After removal of blanket, idle temps sunk down to 34c :D

P.S. - Comp is (almost) completely silent, most fans are attached to a fanbus. I'd rate my PC < 23dBa. Also, each hard disk and optical drive are on its own channel. (Primary master - 40gb, Secondary Master - Black DVD-RW, SATA0 - 400gb, SATA2 - 120gb, USB (ghetto hookup) - Beige DVD-RW)

Poor college student and not afraid to admit it. I worked hard and got good deals to get what I have and I'm glad to show it off.
Believe me when I say you didn't get a hot deal on that Dell printer. We had at work (given to us for free from Dell) and its either breaking down or the print out comes out all smudged due to the horrible design of the toner cartridges.
LOL. My Dell rep at work offered me a free Dell printer for the office, but based on my experiences with their printers, I kindly turned her down.
Yeah, they tried to send us another complimentary printer and we said, "Thanks, but no thanks."

Here's my racing sim setup
What you see:
Sony G520 21" CRT
Dell 2001FP
Swan M200 w/ 10" Velodyne VX10 sub
Little Dot Micro+ amp w/ Etymotic ER4S
Act Labs Force RS Wheel with 6-speed H-Shifter
Cockpit of a Ferrari 575 in GTR2
Sony Ericsson K750i
MGE XG Magnum 500W passively cooled PSU sitting on top of the case

You REALLY need matching LCDS....

Meh I prefer my CRT. Maybe matching CRTs.
Anyways, it's good having both for photo editing. LCD's are better for catching sharpening and JPG artifacts, while CRTs have much better colors. I never even knew how off the colors were on the LCD until I got my CRT.

Workstation 1

Workstation 2

What you see:
Acer 22" Widescreen AL226W
Boston Acoustics BA4800 4.1 Surround System (Subwoofer hidden)
HP Wireless Keyboard setup.

:)

Based on those pics, I take it you are a chic then?

Yes, I must be a chick because I'm not a messy pimp-filled geek.

I get more ass than you too. ;) Don't worry.

:Q;) NICE

I'm sure you do if you're measuring in pounds.

i'm trying to figure out a way to put those 2 rears behind me. at first i was thinking about 2 long extension arms that go from the jerker, extending past me and pointing down at me. i also thought about maybe putting them on stands and just having them behind me. but im not sure what stands i can use to mount them. if you have any other ideas let me know. but thanks for the nice compliments

Well... that's the first time I've seen a computer case that looks like THAT :Q

Home Rig

A little dated... there is a new Samsung 21"WS (instead of the 19"WS) and a few other changes

ps - yes, I know my "Surround Sound" speakers aren't properly distributed in the pic. I'm moving in the next few months and don't want to go through the trouble of setting 'em right just to do it again at the new place. Lazy... I would love to find some swing out 'arms' and mount them to the desk so they can be tucked away when not in use.

Mine looks like this. Heheh I was viewing this thread when I took the picture.

Yes, I am aware of how messy the desk is. It's Saturday night and I'm not cleaning it till tomorrow.
