Oh maaaaan; they don't have a typical command in the game for it? Bummer. So, I've got to run some 3rd party program on top of the game? I don't have the spare CPU cycles for that. :eek:

OK See if this works ( It should on all on Quake 3 based games )

go to C:\Program Files\Call of Duty\Main

Open up config.cfg in notepad > hit ctrl + f , be sure to have your cursor at the very first > type in fps, it should take you to cg_drawFPS "0" > change that 0 to 1 > find the next fps and change max fps to 500 or whatever

I got this via a google search. ;)

link

It's a cheats page for the demo version, but maybe it'll work for the full version. Give it a try, the FPS should work no matter what since it's the same command for all Quake3 engine based games that I know of.

cg_drawFPS 1 - Turns fps display on

Well, lets's see. 1152x864 all settings maxed. I get an even 60FPS. What confuses me is that when I turn on 4xAA and 4xAF I still get 60FPS. :confused: In all other games, my framerate takes about a 20% hit with AA/AF turned on. What's up with this?

Where's that setting located?

It's under Option --> System --> Performance.....Sync Every Frame

It should be disable to turn Vsync off.

It's probably vsync. Not that that's a bad thing, there's nothing to be gained by turning it off.

Without Vsync visible tears in textures are noticable (with my system at least) in every game - as well as stutters from frames going from 150 to 70 fps.

All it does is keep your video card from sending your monitor more FPS than it can display. Why do you hate it?
