I'm getting ready to start hosting a friends shoutcast station on my server and i'm, as always, curious to see how well the server will handle the load if traffic were to be a bit higher. The stream is standard Shoutcast so any mp3-capable player should do the trick.

The stream is located at...
http://noc.lan-central.com:8000/

Or if DNS hasn't gotten to you yet...
http://67.19.206.11:8000/

Right now it's basically mirroring the existing stream but will eventually be the one and only source. anywho.. have at it folks!

Comments on the music selection, quality, etc. are also more than welcome and will be passed on to the right people. =)

Edit: Music type, in case anyone is wondering, is kinda industrial in nature.
Edit2: Be sure to spam out yer aim/msn/yahoo buddy lists... the more ppl we can cram onto this server the better. Trying to reach 100, and so far haven't gotten above 10 (is the AT-Effect broken today?)

Kill Mother Fcuking Depeche Mode... sweet :D Sounds pretty good, but I am on a notebook with those tiny speakers so it isn't too helpful, but it doesn't sound as bad as the transcoded stuff I listen to usually on this thing.

Lol. No comment from me on that one. One side note, the group of ppl who host the source of this stream does have full permission to play all the music yer hearing, so for once this isn't just a random rogue station. From what I understand they went to a few record labels and just got free reign on any artist those labels represent. =)

a very generous hosting provider. =) Also running a ut2004 server on the same machine right now. It's almost maxed out at the 32-player cap that i set too. Had 29 players last time i checked.

you might wanna check out
My wife's radio show (industrial, EBM, gothic)

Maybe we can somehow hook up ? :) The server they have right now sucks (IMHO), a max 50 listeners and 64kbps bandwidth....

f you have some connections and know people from the scene, let me (or her) know :) My wife has/had a pretty known name in Chicago as a industrial, 80s, Goth DJ with experience ina lot of clubs...and i think its a shame she doesnt get more listeners and support...
